Which are the current versions of Prism? How can I update or upgrade?

Before Updating

Please determine your Prism license type and current version. You must also have software installation privileges on your computer in order to install an update.

• How do I find my license type? Your Prism license can be a Perpetual or Subscription license. The easiest way to determine whether you have a Perpetual or Subscription license is to launch Prism, go to Help > About Prism (Windows) or Prism > About Prism (Mac), and check for an expiration date "This license will expire on...": if you see an expiration date, you have a Subscription. Otherwise, you have a Perpetual. If you cannot launch Prism, please check your original purchase receipt or contact your group administrator.
• How do I find my Prism version? Launch Prism and go to Help > About Prism (Windows) or Prism > About Prism (Mac). Learn more
• How do I get privileges to install software updates on my computer? Many organizations restrict the ability of end-users to install software. Please consult with your organization's IT Administrator or IT Support Desk.

Your license type grants different updates:

• Perpetual Customers: Your license allows updates to minor version numbers only. For example, if you purchased Prism 6 perpetual, you can only update to any newer Prism 6 version (e.g. Prism 6.1), but not to Prism 7 or later. If you would like to upgrade to a new major version, please visit our How to Buy page or submit your request at help.graphpad.com
• Subscribers: You can update to any version of Prism for free as long as your subscription remains active.

How to Update

If you are on Prism 7.05 (Windows), 7.0e (Mac), or newer:

1. Launch Prism
2. Navigate to the Help menu and click Check for Updates
3. You will be able to instantly install the latest version

If you are on Prism 7.00-04 (Windows), 7.0a-0d (Mac):

To update to a minor version (e.g. Prism 7.05/e):

1. Launch Prism
2. Navigate to the Help menu and click Check for Updates
3. You will be able to instantly install the latest minor version

To update to a major version (e.g. Prism 8): There are two options:

• In Prism, go to Help > Check for Updates to update to 7.05/e, then repeat the process to update to the latest major version, or
• Download the most recent installers from the Updates page

If you are on an older version of Prism, or cannot use Check for Updates:

• Subscribers: Please visit My Account (if you have access) or contact your group administrator, in order to obtain the new Serial Number and installation files required for activating Prism 7 or newer.
• Perpetual Customers: Please visit our How to Buy page or submit your request at help.graphpad.com
