KNOWLEDGEBASE - ARTICLE #2049

When you send Prism graph with semi-transparent background to MS Office, the plotting area looks darker than the background.

This problem happens when you:

  • Have set the preference (File&Printer tab) to include the background color when copying a graph to the clipboard or sending to Office.
  • Have set the background color to a semitransparent color.
  • Use Prism's Send button to send the graph (or layout) to PowerPoint.

What happens:

  1. Prism 7 sets PowerPoint slide's background to match the background of your graph.'
  2. Prism 7 leaves the semi-transparent color of your graph.
  3. You see the two superimposed which makes for a darker color.

To avoid the problem, change the Preference so Prism 7 doesn't copy or send the background color. Alternatively, change the background color of your graph or layout so it is not semi-transparent.
