When trying to install (or update) Prism Windows, SetupBuilder gives a message, "This application has encountered a problem and needs to close."

 SetupBuilder is the tool we use to create the installer and updater for the Windows version of GraphPad Prism. In rare cases, when you try to install, you'll see a message that "This application has encountered a problem and needs to close.". You can tell that message comes from SetupBuilder, as it is named in the window header.

 The error number is helpful in tracking down the problem at Lindersoft.com

Error 0001:000-4 comes up when an aggressive virus scanner (often Kaspersky) won't let the setup program install Prism. You may need to turn off the virus scanner, or change its settings, while installing Prism.

Error 0007:0008 comes up when a Windows component is missing. Try rebooting your computer and updating Windows.

Error 0002:0005 once came up for someone when the downloaded installer was somehow corrupted. Downloading again solved the problem.

You should try all three of the above (rebooting and updating, turning off virus scanning, try a fresh installer) no matter what the error code is.
