Using Prism Mac, I can't select the Arial font. I keep getting Arial Narrow.
This is a problem when running Prism 4 Mac on OSX 10.4 (Tiger). When you choose "Arial", you end up with "Arial narrow". Similarly, when you choose Geeza Pro you get Geeza Pro Bold, and when you choose
Optima you get Optima ExtraBack... This is due to a minor bug in Prism that only reveals itself when you run under Tiger (which presents the fonts to Prism in a different order than prior versions).
The best work around is to disable the Arial Narrow (and Geez Pro Bold...) font using Font Book (a program that comes with OSX). To do this, open Font Book, find Arial Narrow, Ctrl-click it, and then select Disable.
If you are sure you never want to use the Arial Narrow font (etc.), you can delete it from your system altogether, using a command on the File menu of Font book. After deleting the font, empty the trash or the fonts may somehow come back to haunt you.
This problem is fixed in Prism 5.
