Tips to save paper when printing data and results tables from Prism.
Here are a few tips to help you save paper when printing Prism tables:
- Use the zoom buttons at the bottom right of the Prism Window to use smaller fonts in the table. You can also do this using by dropping the Change menu, and choosing Use Smaller Font. This setting also changes the font size when printing. Use a smaller font to fit more rows and columns on a page. Note that the zoom buttons work differently for graphs and layouts. For graphs and layouts (unlike tables), the zoom buttons only affect what you see on screen and not the size when printed.
- Flip the page between landscape and portrait. Your choice will depend on whether you have lots of rows or lots of columns. To get to this setting, drop the File menu and choose Print Setup (Windows) or Page Setup (Mac). There is one setting that applies to all tables within a file. You may prefer to make a choice here, print a few sheets, and then switch to the other orientation and print other sheets. Graphs and Layouts work differently. You can flip each sheet separately using Change..Flip to Landscape or Change...Flip to Portrait. Those commands do not apply to tables, and the commands in File..Print Setup or Page Setup do not apply to graphs and layouts.
- Go to the File&Printer tab of Preferences, and turn off the option to Print the sheet name as a header.
- Narrow column widths by positioning the cursor between column headings and dragging. If the columns are narrower, more will fit on each printed page.
- Instead of printing a data or results table directly, select a portion (or all), copy, and then go to an empty page layout and paste. You can assemble parts of several data and results tables on one page layout, and then print it.
