Problems with the Gaussian distribution equation built in to Prism.
Prism 5.00: There was a bug in how Prism computes the initial value of the center of the distribution. in release 5.00, fixed in 5.01. Update free. Or, if you must stick with 5.00, find the file Gaussian.pzt in the equations folder in the Prism folder, and replace with this one. (You might have to log on with admin rights to change files in the Program Files folder).
Prism 3: With Prism versions prior to 3.03 (Windows), and up to 3.0c (Mac) there is a bug in the built-in Gaussian equation. Actually the equation is ok, but nonlinear regression also uses built-in derivative functions and one of these is wrong. If you use Windows, update to 3.03. If you use Mac, create your own Gaussian function as a user-defined function and avoid the built-in function that doesn't work properly.
