On our network, the registry is locked so programs running on individual work stations cannot change the registry. Will the networked versions of InStat and Prism run ok?
All GraphPad programs make registry settings the first time they run. If the registry is locked, the programs can still run, but with these limitations:
- When you see InStat or Prism files in 'My computer' or anywhere, they won't have icons.
- When you double-click on an InStat (.isd) or Prism (.pzf) file, nothing will happen. The registry is what tells Windows which program to launch.
- You can't copy and paste graphs from Prism to other programs. The paste command will be gray. You can, however, export a Prism graph and then insert that file into another program.
- You won't be able to launch Prism using VBA automation (used rarely).
