I've pasted Prism graphs into a Word (or PowerPoint) document but they don't show up on my computer screen. All I see is a box with a red X, or text that says {EMBED Prism 5.document}. How can I fix this?
This happens because of an unhelpful options setting in Word.
Word 2000, 2002, 2003
- Drop the Tools menu, choose Options
- On the Options dialog, go to the View tab.
- Uncheck the options for "Picture Placeholders". If it is checked, you see a red X rather than your graph.
- Uncheck "Field codes." When Field codes is checked, Word shows words about prism object, rather than your graph.
Word 2007
- Click the Office Button (circle in the upper left of your Word Window).
- Click Word Options.
- On the Options dialog, click Advanced, and scroll down to the section labeled 'Show document content'.
- Uncheck 'Show picture placeholders' .
- Uncheck 'Show filed codes instead of their values'.
