In the results of using nonlinear regression to fit a dose-response curve, what does "span" mean?

The sigmoidal dose response curve goes from a low plateau that Prism calls "Bottom" to a high plateau that Prism calls "Top". The difference between Top and Bottom is reported as "Span".
