I want to paste symbols from a Prism graph legend to a Word document, but I can't place them where I want.

If your word wrapping option isn't set correctly in Word, you won't be able to get the copied symbol as close to the text as you'd like. Try this:

  • Copy/paste the desired line from the legend to a Prism "layout" sheet.
  • Edit the legend on the layout to remove the words, leaving only the symbol. This will leave empty space where the words were--don't worry.
  • Paste the symbol to your Word document. It may not land where you want it, but that's OK. Select this object and choose "Format...Object". Select the "Wrapping" tab and choose "Wrapping style = None" (in Word 2000, select the "Layout" tab, then choose "In front of text"). Now you can push the symbol where you want it.
