I did a curve fit, but Prism didn't put the curve on my graph.
In most cases, Prism automatically plots the curve on your graph. But there are exceptions:
- If the curve is fit to transformed data, but you didn't make the optional graph of the transformed data when you did the transform, Prism has no place to put the curve. It certainly won't put the curve on the graph of your pre-transform data, so make sure you're not looking there for it.
- If you duplicated a graph without duplicating the data table, then fit a curve from the original table, Prism places the curve on only one of the graphs.
You can add a curve to any appropriate graph. To Prism, a curve is just another data set. So, to add a curve to your graph, start with the graph in view, then...
Prism 3
Choose "Change...Data on Graph. The resulting dialog shows the data sets currently on the graph, along with corresponding symbols or lines:

In this example, the graph contains a single data set, in column A, plotted with filled squares. Click "Add..."

In the drop-down box, you should be able to locate the analysis containing the curve you want to add, if it has been done. Here, only one analysis is available. Select the analysis, if necessary, and choose "Add". You can repeat this process to add more curves. When you're done, choose "Close" to return to the previous dialog. The new curves should now be on the list of data sets on your graph.

Click "OK" to return to the graph.
Prism 4
The procedure is similar, starting with the graph displayed and choosing "Change... Add Data Sets...".
Version 4 offers a second method. With the graph displayed, simply click and drag the appropriate data table sheet from the Navigator onto the graph.
