How do I launch a network version of Prism, InStat, or StatMate from a workstation?
** Note: We no longer sell network licenses for GraphPad Prism. This information is for legacy licenses.
With a network license of Prism, InStat, or StatMate, nothing is actually installed on individual users' computers. Prism is installed on one computer with a shared network drive. This acts as a server and people launch Prism over the network. Anyone with network access can launch Prism from a network license but only a set number of people can use it at the same time.
Windows:
- From your Windows desktop, right-click your mouse and choose New/Shortcut. This will create a generic shortcut on your desktop.
- Double-click on the new shortcut and browse to the prism.exe, instat.exe, or statmate.exe file on the shared network drive. You may have to ask your IT people to help you locate this.
- Select this file and click OK.
- Double-clicking this new shortcut will launch the program from the shared drive/server.
Mac:
- Open Finder and browse to the Prism application folder on the shared network drive. You may need to ask your IT people to help you find this.
- Locate the Prism, InStat, or StatMate folder and select the application inside it.
- Right-click (or Control-click) and choose Make Alias.
- Drag this new Alias to your Desktop or Applications folder
- Double-clicking on this new Alias will launch the program from the shared drive/server.
