How can I put graphs from two different files onto the same page layout?
Prism gives you two ways to place a graph from one project on a layout of another.
Copy and paste
The easiest way to place a graph from one project on a layout of another is via copy and paste.
- Copy a graph from one project,
- Go to a layout on another project.
- Make sure no placeholder or graph is selected. Paste. Prism will give you three choices: to paste an unlinked picture, a link to the original file, or to merge in the graph and its related data and results. The last choice, of course, will increase the size of the file.
Note: Do not first select a placeholder and then paste. If you do this, Prism will not give you a choice to paste a picture, paste a link, or merge in the family. Worse, Prism will distort the aspect ratio.
Use the place graph on layout dialog
Double-click on a placeholder to bring up the "Place graph on layout" dialog. From that dialog, you can choose a graph in any open file, or (with one extra step) any file at all. You'll then get a choice to just include an unlinked picture, a link to the original file, or to merge in that graph, along with linked data and results, into the file you are working on.
Merge two files
If you prefer to have both graphs in one file, you can merge the files. Use File...Merge.
