How can I compute fractional change or percent change with Prism?

You can do this for adjacent data sets. Suppose your values are in data sets A and B, each formatted as a single column.

To calculate the fractional (fold) or percent change from column B to column A, try linking built-in analyses:

  1. Copy column B to column C
  2. Create column D containing all zeros.

  3. Do a "Remove baseline" analysis, choosing to subtract column B from column A and column D from column C. This produces a results sheet with two columns: A-B and B.
  4. Do a second "Remove baseline" analysis on this results sheets, but now choosing to divide the first column by the second. If you set the adjacent radio button to "Fractions", the resulting sheet is one column containing the changes as a fraction of the initial value.

If you set the "Percentages" option, the result is percent change.
