Graphs look wrong when file created by Prism 4 is opened by Prism 5.
Layouts have thick borders around graphs
The problem is that Prism 5 somehow gets confused about border thickness of the graphs on the layout. We fixed this problem in 5.02. But there is an easy work around.
- From the layout, click Edit and Select all.
- Right-click on one of the graphs,
- Choose None for border thickness.
Bar graphs look wrong
We know of one problem. This happens when you entered data onto a two-grouping variable data table in Prism 4, entered data on only one graph, and make a bar graph. When Prism 5 opens this file, the bars are misplaced, and lose their column title labels. There is an easy work around, that an be used either in Prism 4 (better) or Prism 5:
- Go to the problem graph
- Click Change... Graph Type
- Change to "one-grouping variable" (Prism 4) or "Column" (Prism 5).
- Choose a column bar graph.
- If the column labels now are angled, and you want them horizontal, double click on the axis and change the setting in the Format Axis dialog.
Nonlinear curve fits look different
Prism 5 has some improvements to nonlinear regression, detailed here.
