Graphs created by FlowJo and pasted into Prism look bad, with really thick black borders.

FlowJo is a program for analyzing and graphing flo cytometry data. If you copy graphs from FloJo and paste onto a Prism layout, the result can look awful. Sometimes it looks fine when you paste, but then looks bad after saving and reopening the file.

The problem is that FloJo includes a transparent thick border around the graph, but encodes the transparency in a way that neither Prism Mac or Windows can deal with properly.

The work around is simple. WIth new releases of FlowJo, use the option to not include any transparency in the image. To do this, use the copy command shown here (or the same command on the right-click shortcut menu).

If your version of FlowJo doesn't have this command, a workaround that we are told works well is to copy the graph from Flow-Jo and paste into PowerPoint. Then copy from PowerPoint and paste into Prism.
