Graph tip -- Using nudging to make graphs easier to read

This example shows how to offset overlapping data sets to make a waterfall graph.


How to do it:

All the data sets in the following graph cover the same range of wavelengths, and all have a baseline of zero optical density.

Double-click on any line to open the Format Graph dialog. Go to the Data sets on graph tap. Nudge each data set in both X and Y directions, each a bit more than the previous data set.

This creates a pseudo 3D look that is sometimes called a “waterfall.”
