Can I create horizontal grid lines -- without the vertical ones?

The only way to do this is a bit tedious, but not awful. Double-click the Y axis, then click "Custom Ticks". For each place you want a grid line, enter the coordinate, leave the text blank, and choose a solid or a dotted grid line for "Tick Style".
