Bug: When you right-click on a cell in a table and choose to format that point (different color..), sometimes another point's color changes

This problem occurs in Prism 6 and 7 in the following rare case, when:

  • Your data includes negative values or 0
  • You are plotting that axis on a logarithmic scale
  • You have right clicked on a cell to reformat the linked point, and one of the cells higher in the table is zero or negative

The log of negative numbers and zero is undefined, so those points can't be shown on a log axis. The problem is that Prism then gets confused. If you select the value in say row 5, right click, and choose Format points , Prism will actually reformat the fifth value that shows on the graph. So if there is a negative value in say row 3, then Prism will apply your format choices to the point linked to row 6.

Workaround. If you are using a logarithmic axis, delete all negative or zero values, which won't show on a logarithmic axis. Also rethink. Are those negative (or zero) values correct? If so, does using a logarithmic axis make sense?
