Bug: Poor handling of excluded values in grouped box-whisker plots with superimposed scatter plot

If you choose to plot grouped data as box-and-whiskers with superimposed dot plot, Prism 6 Windows gets confused by excluded values as the top graph below shows. There are four unexcluded values in the second row of data set B, but only three symbols appear on the graph.

Workarounds:

  • The bottom graph above shows one workaround. Put the excluded value(s) in the rightmost subcolumn(s).
  • Instead of excluding a value, delete the value entirely.
  • Instead of creating a box-and-whiskers plot with superimposed scatter plot, just plot the scatter plot, perhaps with superimposed error bars.

We'll fix in the next Prism version.
