Bug: Embedded tables can lose their link to data or results
The following steps with early releases of Prism 6 lead the embedded table to lose its link and become empty:
- Copy data from a data or results table and paste onto a Prism graph.
- Place that graph onto a layout.
- Go back to the data table and remove all the data.
- Go to the layout to see that the graph now has no data.
- Go back to the data table and enter new data.
- Go to the layout. You'll see the new data plotted properly, but the embedded table is blank. It has lost its link to the data table.
We fixed this in release 6.02 and 6.0b. To avoid the problem with earlier releases, simply avoid step 4. There is no reason to go confirm that a graph with no data has no data. If you simply remove the old data and paste in the new, all will be fine. Even if you remove the data, save the file, then later open the file and add new data. The step that causes the problem is viewing a layout that contains a graph that contains an embedded table linked to an empty table.
