Bug: Changes to survival curve symbols (via right ciick) don't stick in Prism 6 Windows.

If you right click on a symbol on a graph, you can choose Format entire data set, and then choose an alternative symbol.

This works great for XY graphs, but not so well with survival curves in GraphPad Prism Windows 6 (up through 6.04). The changes appear fine on the screen, but don't stick when you save and reopen the file, or when you send it to Word or PowerPoint.

Here is a very easy workaround. Don't use the right click method to change symbols. Do so instead right from the Format Graph dialog, which comes up when you double click on the graph. Go to the third tab and choose stair case with points (rather than staircase with ticks):

Now you can go to the first tab and change the symbols. If you want to change the symbols fo rthe entire data set, use the Global button in the upper right of that tab first. Note that among the symbol choices are ticks that go up, down, or both.
