Box and Whiskers symbol size appear larger in Prism 6 (Windows) than they did originally created in Prism 5.
Box and Whiskers with symbols graph created in Prism 5 and opened in Prism 6. It appears fine. It looks like it did in Prism 5.
However, if you create the same project in Prism 6 using the same symbol size, the symbols become larger.
There is no issue if you create a Box and Whiskers plot with symbols from scratch with a new Prism 6 file. The bug occurs only when you use a Prism 6 file originally created in Prism 5. Of course we'll fix in the next Prism version. If you’re going to use a Prism 6 file originally created in Prism 5, see the details and fix below when creating Box and Whiskers with symbols.
Details:
The issue occurs when you’ve created a graph in Prism 5 using Box and Whiskers plot with symbols and use that same file, but now in Prism 6. The original graph looks fine, but if you make another graph from scratch with Box and Whiskers with symbols or choose New Graph of Existing Data…. You’ll see that the symbols come out much larger than they’re suppose to.
To fix: From the first, Appearance, tab of the Format Graph dialog:
1. Click Global setting to --Change ALL data sets --
2. From the Symbols section, change the Shape to an open symbol
3. Change the Border thickness to 1/4pt
4. With the Format Graph Dialog still open, change the Shape back to a solid symbol
5. Click "Apply"
Your symbols will now be the appropriate size. Box and Whiskers with symbols Graph after applying the fix:
