How to configure Prism to communicate with a local LabArchives server.

 Prism (v8.02 and higher) can send files to  LabArchives

GraphPad Prism has been integrated with LabArchives to enable users to directly export projects from Prism into the LabArchives Notebook. Additionally, when a Prism project is opened from within your Notebook, it may be re-saved into the same Page from which is resides, preserving both versions of the file.

Using the integration

1. Open GraphPad Prism. On the “Welcome to GraphPad Prism” window, click LabArchives.

2. You will be prompted to login to LabArchives. If you would like to create a LabArchives account click “Try LabArchives Free”

3. If logging into an active LabArchives account, a new window will appear to input the user’s login and password. If you login using a Single Sign on system you will need to create a password token. For more information Click Here.

4. Once logged into an active LabArchives account, all notebooks associated with the account can be selected from the drop-down menu, shown below. Any GraphPad Prism files associated with the notebook will show up as well. You can open a selected GraphPad Prism file, edit the file, and save it back to your notebook.

To open or save a file to LabArchives

To open or save a file click the LabArchives icon near the top right-hand corner of the program. You will have the option to save a file to LabArchives, open a file from LabArchives, log out of LabArchives, or learn more about LabArchives.

After you export a file from Prism to LabArchives, it will be found in your LabArchives Inbox. Log in to LabArchives (via a web browser), then click the Inbox icon to see the files exported from Prism.

You can move Prism files from your LabArchives Inbox to a page in your notebook. To do this, hover over the Prism file then click the triple dot menu. You will see the option to move the file to a page or delete the file from your Inbox. If you click ‘Move to page…’, a window will appear where you can choose which page to move the file to.

Once the Prism file is on a page in your notebook, you are able to download it from the page to your computer. You can also use the integration to open the file within Graphpad Prism as mentioned above.

Use GraphPad Prism and LabArchives for Australian Users

  1. Create a Configuration File following the steps below
    A. Create a .txt file called labarchivesconfig.txt
    B. Paste the following information into the configuration file

Login =https://au-mynotebook.labarchives.com
API =https://auapi.labarchives.com
Browse=https://au-mynotebook.labarchives.com
ErrorConnecting =Prism cannot connect to the AU LabArchives instance
TryAccountBlurb=The University has a site license for LabArchives, so the free trial is not available

2. Save the configuration file to the GraphPad Prism directory on your computer.

PC: Once GraphPad Prism is installed, save the configuration file in the Prism folder. This may look like C:\Program Files\GraphPad\Prism 8. Restart the application.

Mac: Create a directory called /Library/Application Support/GraphPad/Prism/Config and save the configuration file. In some cases, the folder location may be /Library/Application Support/GraphPad/Prism 8. Restart the application.
